The extraordinary life and times of Thomas Read Kemp

Born in 1782 to a wealthy local land-owning family, Thomas Read Kemp is without question one of the most important people in the development of Brighton during the Regency and Georgian years.  However, his ambitious plans ran into difficulty, and his life of status and privilege was to end prematurely in relative poverty in overseas exile.

“Thomas Kemp: the man who had everything but gambled it all on a single venture”.
